MENTOR, Ohio — Mentor police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash.
The crash happened Tuesday night around 10 p.m. on State Route 2 near Center Street.
Officials said a 2003 Ford F150 pick up truck was driving east.
At the same time, Jamiel Spikes, 34, was riding a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle headed in the same direction.
Witnesses on scene told police Spikes was riding at a high rate of speed when he struck the rear end of the pickup truck.
Spikes was transported to TriPoint Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
