MENTOR, Ohio — The City of Mentor announced Tuesday that it will hold Memorial Day events next week, but that there will be some caveats.

According to the city, the Memorial Day procession will consist of cars only. Buses, motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians will not be allowed to participate.

Everyone is invited to participate (with their vehicles) in the parade. The city asks that participants assemble at Memorial Middle School, 8979 Mentor Ave. at 9 a.m. on May 25.

From there, the parade route will head north out of the parking lot and through the Mentor Municipal Cemetery to the Vietnam War Memorial before exiting on Jackson Street. Please note – the city asks that every leave the cemetery immediately following the parade.

At 10 a.m., there will be a Memorial Day ceremony held at the Vietnam War Memorial that will be closed to the public. However, the event will be live stream and broadcasted on the city’s website, Facebook page and YouTube page.
