Suspect sought in Painesville bank robbery

Painesville police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred around 9 a.m. on Jan. 22.

According to authorities, an unidentified black male entered Chase Bank, 1655 Mentor Ave., jumped the counter and ordered a teller to place money in a bag and then fled the scene.

The man is described as tall, wearing dark colored pants, a white sweatshirt or coat and a black mask that partially covered his face.  

Police said he left the area in an older model, light colored van that was heading eastbound on Mentor Avenue.
