WICKLIFFE, Ohio — A Wickliffe High School senior was struck and killed by a car allegedly driven by his friend during a "horseplay" incident outside a bowling alley, according to a news release from the Wickliffe Police Department.

On Saturday, police responded to the parking lot of Wickliffe Lanes Bowling Alley, 30315 Euclid Avenue, for a report of a pedestrian struck.

An investigation revealed 17-year-old Wickliffe High School Senior Anthony Noch was leaving the bowling alley with his two friends when he was struck by a car driven by his friend Gary Reba, 18, of Willowick.

The investigation revealed the incident happened during “horseplay” between friends, according to the release.

Reba and a second man left the bowling alley prior to Noch, who was finishing up paying inside the alley.

Police said Reba moved the car from its original parking spot, so that Noch would come outside and have to look for his car.

As Noch looked for his car, Reba allegedly drove towards Noch to startle him, and in doing so, struck Noch with the front driver’s side corner of his car.

Noch fell to the ground and suffered a serious head injury, police said.

He was taken first to Lake West Hospital where he was taken to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

Noch later died on Sunday morning, police said.

Reba was arrested and charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle and aggravated vehicular homicide, according to the release.

At this time, there is no evidence that alcohol or drugs were involved, according to police.
