Someone actually had the audacity to steal a charity change jar for The Children's Miracle Network meant to benefit children in need from a Willoughby gas station on Saturday, according to Willoughby police.

An employee at Speedway Gas Station on SR 306 told police that an unknown man came into the store around 11:45 a.m.

The man waited around inside the store for several minutes without purchasing anything, according to a post from the department's Facebook.

After the man left the gas station, the employee noticed the charity change jar was gone.

Surveillance video showed the man take the jar off the counter and place it under his coat before he left the gas station in a Pontiac Grand Prix,

It's unknown at this time how much money was inside the jar. University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital is the local Cleveland-area hospital that is a recipient of the funds donated to the Children's Miracle Network.

If anyone knows the identity of the man, please contact Ptl. Crowley at 440-953-4212; reference 18-33937.
