Woman robbed at gunpoint in parking lot of Mentor Giant Eagle; police seeking tips about crime

MENTOR, Ohio — The Mentor Police Department is asking for tips after a 59-year-old woman was confronted by two men and a woman who tried to rob her at gunpoint Wednesday.

The incident happened around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday in the Giant Eagle parking lot, 8383 Tyler Blvd.

Authorities say the woman was approached by the trio and one of them brandished a silver handgun as they tried to take her purse. The woman fought back and screamed for help, which caused the three individuals to run off.

A detailed description of the robbers is not available.
