3 eagle eggs reported with estimated hatching times at Redwood Elementary School in Avon Lake

AVON LAKE, Ohio — A total of three eggs are now reported in the closely-watched nest at Redwood Elementary in Avon Lake.

The nest is home to a pair of eagles affectionately named "Stars" and "Stripes" by a group of Avon Lake students. Every year, they have returned to the nest to raise a new brood, and this year is no different.

Since late February, three eggs have been laid. The estimated hatch times are below:

  • The first egg was laid on Feb. 28 at 4:02 p.m with an estimate hatch date of April 4.
  • The second egg was laid on March 3 at 1:51 p.m. with an estimate hatch date of April 7.
  • The third egg was laid on March 6 at 5:25 p.m. with an estimate hatch date of April 10.

Hatch times are based on the average of 35 days of incubation for a typical eagle eggs.
