Route 83 and Mills Road have reopened after being shut down due to police activity, North Ridgeville Police confirmed Friday.

According to police, authorities were dispatched to the 36000 block of Mills Road at around 5:44 p.m. about a man who was reportedly depressed and suicidal, and also said to be armed with several firearms.
The man refused to come to the door, police said, and the Lorain County SWAT team was called out when negotiations broke town.
Police re-established negotiations with the man, who ultimately surrendered peacefully, according to authorities.

The man was taken to the hospital by the North Ridgeville Fire Department.
No arrests were made.
