LORAIN, Ohio — The City of Lorain Water Billing Department is warning customers about a new scam.
The department said a customer received a call from a 1-800 telephone number that informed her that the water was disconnected at her residence for a non-payment, even though her bill was paid to date.
The City of Lorain Water Department does not have a 1-800 telephone number.
If anyone receives a call from a 1-800 telephone number to inform them that their water will be disconnected, it's a scam, officials warned.
