2 killed in single-car crash in Lorain Co.

Two men were killed in a single-car crash in Lorain County Sunday.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after midnight in Penfield Township.

Benjamin Metzger, 25 of Litchfield, was driving a Ford F-150 eastbound on State Route 18 when he went off the side of the road, struck an embankment, overturned and then struck a tree.

Metzger and his passenger, 24-year-old Jeremy Leiter of Litchfield were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the men were traveling at an unsafe speed. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
