MEDINA, Ohio — Come fall, The Foundry Social, a 30,000-square-foot entertainment complex, will call Medina home. Think of the space like an indoor playground for adults.
When completed this fall, Foundry Social will offer games like duckpin bowling, billiards, bocce, pinball and ping pong, along with video game favorites like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong.
Playing games and staying competitive can work up an appetite, so the Foundry Social will have a full kitchen and full-service bar.
“We are excited to bring Foundry Social to Medina,” said Greg Cordray, owner of Medina's High Voltage Karting, in a press release. “The Medina community has embraced us and supported High Voltage Karting since day one, and we are proud to bring such an exciting entertainment concept to Medina.”
Elyria-based brewery Franklin Brewing will move its operations to the foundry complex.
Once construction is completed, Foundry Social, Franklin Brewing and High Voltage Karting will occupy roughly 40% of The Foundry, 333 Foundry Street.
"The charm of this historical Medina Landmark, with it’s 46 foot high ceilings, massive girders, and hot rivets, will be tastefully retained. Part of the modernization is the planned installation of a cutting-edge rooftop solar array," Cordray said. “The Foundry made a difference for the people of Medina 100 plus years ago. That’s our mission too.”
Foundry Social and Franklin Brewing will add at least 25 new jobs, with the hopes of bringing thousands of visitors to Medina every year.
A tentative grand opening is set for October and a hiring fair in the late summer.
