The Portage County Sheriff's office is investigating a shooting that took place late Saturday.
Police said the shooting occurred in the 4100 block of Fairgrounds Road.
Authorities identified the victim as 21-year-old Haskim Ako Woods, of Canton. Woods was taken to Aultman Hospital in Canton for treatment of his gunshot wound. The injury was not said to be life threatening.
Officials said Woods was attending a birthday party held on Fairgrounds Road.
This is an ongoing investigation.
