MANSFIELD, Ohio — A 62-year-old employee of an assisted living facility in Mansfield is charged with raping an 84-year-old resident of the center, according to News 5 affiliate WSYX.
Donald Chinn was arrested last Thursday night at his Shelby home and was charged with one count of rape.
The daughter of the alleged victim altered the Waterford assisted living facility in Mansfield about the alleged rape, and the executive director called 911.
A spokesperson for the facility sent a statement to WSYX stating in part that the management is “disappointed and concerned."
Chinn has been suspended indefinitely, a representative for the facility stated. "We are taking swift action and conducting an internal investigation as well as cooperating with authorities," the statement reads.
Chinn pleaded not guilty in municipal court and is in the Richland County jail, WSYX reports. He’s being held on a $100,000 bond.
Chinn has a record of drug offenses, including drug trafficking, stretching back to at least 1999, according to WSYX.
