MANSFIELD, Ohio — A bar in Mansfield was cited Friday night for violating the state’s COVID-19 orders, according to the Ohio Investigative Unit.

Around 11:35 p.m., agents arrived at Planet Rock in Mansfield where they observed a line of people attempting to enter the establishment.

Inside of the establishment, agents observed around 60 customers with little-to-no social distancing in place, OIU said.

Customers were openly consuming alcoholic beverages and moving freely throughout the establishment.

Bar seats were occupied while others stood at the bar, OIU said.

Planet Rock received citations on multiple other occasions, including Sept. 22, Oct. 30 and Dec. 10. On Jan. 14, Planet Rock was cited with improper conduct—disorderly activity and hindering inspection. The bar had its liquor permit suspended for seven days as a result of the Sept. 22 citation, which is set to begin on Feb. 24.

The Mansfield bar will have its latest case heard before the Ohio Liquor Commission for more potential penalties, including fines and/or the additional suspension or even revocation of its liquor permit.
