Unidentified Crestline schools teacher on leave for allegations of sexual battery

CRESTLINE, Ohio — A teacher from the Crestline Exempted Village School District in Richland and Crawford counties has been placed on administrative leave following allegations of sexual battery, authorities confirmed on Friday.

The Crestline Police Department said it was notified about the alleged incident on March 1. It opened an investigation into the matter and has been working with the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children task force on the case.

Authorities said the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office is aware of the incident and is currently waiting on additional evidence to be processed.

The teacher’s name has not been released.

The Crestline School District issued the following statement:

The matter is under investigation by the Crestline Police Department. The school district is unable to comment on the investigation or matters involving school personnel.
