LOUISVILLE, Ohio — A 46-year-old man is in custody following an armed standoff in Louisville that left multiple homes and police cars riddled with bullets.

The standoff happened just before 11 a.m. in the 1500 block of Opal Drive. Police had responded to the location for reports of a suicidal person, authorities said.

When authorities arrived at the location, shots were fired from inside the house. The area was cordoned off and officers secured the area.

The man continued to fire shots at police from inside the house and multiple cars and nearby homes were struck, authorities said.

Eventually the man surrendered, and police took him into custody. The man was transported to the Stark County Jail, according to authorities.

No injuries were reported in the shooting. One officer was hurt but it was from a non-firearm, non-life-threatening injury, authorities said.
