Police are searching for two men suspected of breaking into a home and robbing the residents at gunpoint.

On Friday around 2:20 a.m., the North Canton Police Department responded to the 900 block of East Maple Street for a 911 call from a man who reported he was robbed inside his home and was running from the intruders.

A preliminary investigation indicated two men and a woman were living in the home, according to police. Two black men entered the home, found the men in their bedrooms, and ordered them at gunpoint to go downstairs. During that time, the intruders were demanding money from the men as well. One of the victims handed over his rent money. Police said no one was injured during the incident.

Police said the suspects ran from the area before officers arrived. Canton Police Department K-9 officers responded to help search for the suspects, but they had no luck. North Canton police did recover a Sig Sauer .221r gun in the snow near the home. When checked, the gun showed up as stolen.

Both suspects were described as black men between the ages of 20-23 who were between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall. They were wearing black on black clothing and gloves.

When officers interviewed the victims, one of them was discovered to have an outstanding warrant for a misdemeanor theft offense through the Jackson Township Police Department. Christopher P. Barr, 22, was arrested and released to Jackson Township police.

This investigation is ongoing.
