SANDY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after it says a man shot a woman before he turned the gun on himself at a home in Sandy Brook Township, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies responded at around 9:38 a.m. on Friday to the 7900 block of Russ Street SE for reports of a shooting.
At the home, deputies located a female with a fatal gunshot wound. In the backyard, deputies found a male with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by the Stark County Coroner’s Office.
In the release, deputies said the shooting appears to be domestic-related.
The shooting remains under investigation, and deputies said no further information would be released at this time.
