An Akron man charged with shooting his girlfriend last year following a history of physical abuse plead guilty Friday.
Jamarian Williams, 26, plead guilty to attempted murder, four counts of felonious assault, third-degree domestic violence, third-degree having a weapon under a disability, tampering with evidence, receiving stolen property, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, three counts of endangering children and failing to comply with an officer, according to a news release by the Summit County Prosecutor's Office.
On Aug. 31, at about 7:30 p.m., Williams kicked in the door to the woman's home on Inman Street and shot her multiple times. The couple's three children were inside the home at the time of the incident.

Williams was later arrested after he led Akron police on a short chase. During the chase, Williams threw the gun used in the shooting out the window, the release said.
Summit County Court records show Williams has faced a bevy of charges — from drug possession and abduction to having weapons.
He also pleaded guilty to a community control violation in connection with a case from 2015. Williams was on probation for the 2015 case when he shot his girlfriend.
