Akron police are investigating after two people were found dead inside cars over the weekend.

On Friday night, police said they found a 69-year-old man dead inside a Kia Sorrento on Osage Alley and Park Street.

Police found the man at 8:15 p.m. after they received a call of a vehicle that crashed into a building. Citizens nearby were trying to assist the driver after the crash.

The 69-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound, police said. The man's name is being withheld pending positive identification and family notifications.

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office said an autopsy will be performed on Monday.

On Sunday at around 8:40 p.m., a 17-year-old man was found shot in the head inside a Dodge Avenger on Merton Avenue, police said.

The teen's name is being withheld pending positive identification and family notifications.

Two others, both 17-years-old, were found with non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment. A fourth person was in the vehicle during the shooting, but was unharmed, according to police.

Both shootings remain under investigation.
