A car stolen from Akron was located after it crashed into a pole in Barberton Thursday. And, as if that's not enough, officers found items taken from Norton inside the stolen car.

According to a Barberton police report, officers were dispatched to a crash at Wooster Road and North Hazelwood Avenue just after 4 a.m. When officers arrived, they found that a pole had been knocked down and wires were across the road.

The vehicle reportedly involved in the crash was found in a Sunoco parking lot with front end damage and a piece of utility pole stuck to the front.

Officers located the driver of the vehicle inside the gas station.

Police said he admitted to hitting the pole before driving into the parking lot.

The car was listed as stolen from the Akron area, according to the police report.

The driver, 24-year-old Gregory William, was arrested for receiving stolen property.

In the car, police found multiple credit cards, debit cards and items of jewelry that were reported stolen out of Norton.

William was charged with receiving stolen property, driving under suspension and failure to control. Additional charges are pending.
