MACEDONIA, Ohio — A Macedonia police officer was hit by a drunk driver on Christmas Eve.
The officer was on I-271 north of the Ledge Road Bridge investigating an accident.
While investigating the original accident, a Macedonia police cruiser was rear-ended by a 56-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man.
The man was arrested by the Summit County Sheriff's Office for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
The officer was transported to Hillcrest Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
