A 41-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman he met on a dating site, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office.

On Aug. 27, police arrested Matthew Fountaine, of Kent, for rape.

Authorities said a 30-year-old woman met Fountaine on a dating website called "Plenty Of Fish." The two arranged to meet at her Coventry Township home on July 3.

She told police that she consumed a bottle of water that Fountaine gave her. She lost consciousness and woke up naked at an unknown location on July 4, according to detectives.

Lt. Bill Holland believes there was some sort of drug in the water bottle, but investigators are waiting for lab results.

The woman was treated and released from Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center where a sexual assault kit was completed by medical staff.

Following his arrest, Fountaine was taken to the Summit County Jail. He's being held on a $50,000 bond and a hearing is scheduled for Friday afternoon in Barberton Municipal Court.

"Another concern we have here is did the suspect do this with any other people?" Holland said. "So if anybody else was involved with the suspect in a similar situation, we'd like them to contact our office."
