HUDSON, Ohio — Skeletal remains found by a contractor on Friday near a private residential development property appear to have no signs of foul play, according to Hudson police.
A contractor found the remains while digging near a residential development property called River Oaks, located off Boston Mills Road.
Police said the medical examiner and forensic anthropology students from Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania assisted law enforcement with excavating the site on Saturday.
While further digging, they found partial human skeletal remains and pieces of what appear to be a casket, police said.
The remains appear to be very old and there were no signs of foul play, according to police.
"It is our belief that this is a very old isolated grave," police said.
The site was turned back over to Pulte Homes.
