Second man arrested for Cuyahoga Valley National Park shooting

A second man has been arrested in relation to the beating and attempted murder of a woman in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. 

Raymond Moore III was arrested on Friday and charged with aiding and abetting the incident, according to the Cleveland division of the FBI.

On July 3, hikers found a woman lying in a field on the west side of Akron-Peninsula Road in Boston Township. The investigation led to the arrest of Dezay Martell Ely on Aug. 12. Ely has been charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm.

According to official reports, Ely and Moore picked up the female, and all three of them drove in Moore's vehicle so Ely could test a gun he had recently purchased. Moore stayed in the car while Ely and female victim got out and walked in the park, about 20-30 steps from the vehicle. 

Ely allegedly shot the gun multiple times before turning it on the victim, shooting her three times in the head and the face. The victim hear Ely run away and the car drive off after being shot.
