NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio — The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources are investigating the drowning death of a 30-year-old man at Portage Lakes State Park.
On Tuesday, the victim was swimming at Portage Lakes State Park, 5031 Manchester Road, in New Franklin, when he went under the water and never resurfaced.
The Summit County Dive Team responded and found the victim after being submerged for 20 to 30 minutes.
The victim was transported to Barberton Citizen’s Hospital where he died at 5:25 p.m.
