The United Arab Emirates Ambassador said he spoke with Ohio Governor, John Kasich, Monday about the police-involved shooting in Hudson earlier this month.
"In our call, I thanked the Governor for the cooperation that State officials have provided so far," Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba said in a statement emailed to News 5. "I also emphasized the importance of a thorough, transparent and timely investigation into the tragic shooting death of Mr. Alameri."
Officials with the United Arab Emirates said they spoke with state investigators and Summit County Medical Examiner's office.
Saif Nasser Mubarak Alameri, 26, was shot in the head by Hudson police officer after he sideswiped another vehicle and flipped his vehicle on the Ohio Turnpike.
Police officers were able to the catch up with Alameri, who ran away from the scene. A fight began between Alameri and the officer, Ryan Doran.
The officer shot Alameri multiple times. He died from a fatal gunshot wound to his head.
Alameri was a citizen of the United Arab Emirates and was in Cleveland on a student visa at Case Western University.
