AKRON, Ohio — A man who allegedly stole toy donations meant for a Toys for Tots campaign turned himself in to Akron police Friday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Calvin T. Hunter, 46, of Akron, has been charged with felony theft, authorities said.
On Monday, Hunter signed up to be a volunteer for the Marine's Toys for Tots program held at First Faith Development, 790 Easter Ave.
During the day, Hunter was seen taking over $1,000 worth of toys out the back door, police said.
Police said the toys were not brought back.
