A military family in Avon just got an Independence Day weekend surprise they won’t forget.

The Jenkins family thought they were invited to a military appreciation ceremony at the World Golf Championships' Bridgestone Invitational in Akron to accept an award on behalf of U.S. Army Major Tim Jenkins, but instead they were surprised to find out the husband and father of four was home from Kuwait a few days earlier than expected.
