Barberton police confirmed a workplace shooting at an engineering company on Friday morning.
The shooting happened at JR Engineering, located at 775 Wooster Rd. in Barberton, around 7:00 a.m.
Aaron Brooks, 29, is in custody and is charged with felonious assault and having a weapon under disability.
Brooks, an employee of JR Engineering for 2 years, and another current employee got into an argument just after 7 a.m. when Brooks allegedly pulled out a gun and shot another guy in the chest, according to a Barberton detective.
The person who was shot is undergoing surgery after being shot in the chest, according to authorities. His condition is unknown at this time.
The company specializes in the high-volume production of precision components and employs 1700 people, according to the company's website.
