MILTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 75-year-old man died in a two-car crash in Milton Township on Thursday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on State Route 585 (Akron Road) near milepost 10 in Milton Township.

Troopers said Thomas B. Cook, of Akron, was driving a 2015 Ford F-150 southwest on State Route 585 when he went left of center and hit a 2003 Ford F-550 truck that was heading northeast. Cook died as a result of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other Ford's driver, a 60-year-old man, was flown to Akron City Hospital for treatment. Both men were wearing seat belts when the crash occurred.

It's not clear what caused Cook's vehicle to travel into the oncoming traffic lane, troopers said.

The matter remains under investigation.

This is the second fatal crash in Wayne County this year.
