CLEVELAND — Several schools in Northeast Ohio are closed due to extreme heat, as October kicks off with temperatures near the 90s.
Among the schools closing for heat are East Preparatory Academy, Firestone Park Elem, Orchard Park Academy, St. John Lutheran School - Cleveland, Middlebury Academy.
Thanks to high pressure to the south and a stiff south wind Tuesday, some of us will hit 90 degrees, which we've only done in October once before, since we started taking records on Oct. 6. 1946.
Ohio's largest school district, Columbus City Schools, announced late Monday that all of the district's schools will be closed on Tuesday due to extreme heat.
