UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is returning to Northeast Ohio Monday.
This comes after the UFC fighter knocked out Brazlilian Fabricio Werdum at Arena da Baixada soccer stadium in Curitiba, Brazil Saturday night to become the UFC heavyweight champion of the world.
With that win, Miocic, who works as a part-time firefighter in Valley View, brought the first championship to Cleveland since 1964.
After landing at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Monday morning, Miocic is expected to meet his family at his gym, Strong Style Mixed Martial Arts & Training Center, in Independence.
It's been amazing as always Brazil but it's time to start the journey back to #TheLand ??????
