PERRY COUNTY, Ohio — Update: An Amber Alert for a 1-year-old boy, who was taken from his home in Perry County, has been canceled after he was found safe.

An Amber Alert has been issued by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office for a 1-year-old boy taken by a man who is not his biological father, according to authorities. The Amber Alert includes the following Ohio counties: Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Gallia, Hocking, Licking, Madison, Meigs, Morgan, Muskingum, Perry, Pickaway, Union, and Washington.

The child was taken from his residence on Creek Township Road in the city of Logan on Monday at around 12:00 a.m. He was last seen wearing blue/gray sweatpants with a black t-shirt with bones on it.

The suspect was believed to have assaulted the child prior to his abduction. He is described as weighing 180 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Authorities said he is known to have violent tendencies.

The vehicle involved in the abduction is a red 1998 Ford Contour with OH plate number HXN4100. The sheriff’s office said the plate is fictitious and is not registered to the vehicle.
