Voters across Northeast Ohio will consider a variety of local ballot measures on May 2. For many communities, the issues include levies for school district funding, infrastructure, as well as police, fire and EMS. Some municipalities have Sunday liquor sales on their ballots.

5 things to know about May 2 elections in Ohio
1. Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Find your polling place.
2. All voters must bring acceptable identification to the polls.
3. Electronic poll books are here. At many Cuyahoga County polling places, voters will see E-Poll Books replacing the traditional hard copy versions. Most often laptops or tablets, E-Poll Books make it easier for poll workers to find voters' names on the rolls, verify identities, and even make sure a voter is at the correct polling place--without having to page through the old-school books. 4. Race to watch: In Cincinnati, Mayor John Cranley is seeking a second four-year term against councilwoman Yvette Simpson and former University of Cincinnati board chairman Rob Richardson. The top two vote-getters Tuesday move on to the November election.
5. Race to watch: Youngstown's incumbent mayor faces a rematch after a narrow 2013 primary victory. John McNally defeated Jamael Tito Brown, former city council president, by 142 votes.
