Police dealing with situation near Public Square in downtown Cleveland.

Protesters were downtown in Public Square. A few had large open carry firearms. Officers were in the area to monitor the group.
1 p.m.
Reuters reported Tuesday afternoon that shots were fired at a Cleveland police transport vehicle near the site of the Republican National Convention, but Cleveland police say that report is false.
10 a.m.
City of Cleveland briefing for Day 2 of RNC.
Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said there were two arrests on Monday. One person had a gas mask in the event area, which is prohibited. Another arrest was due to a warrant.
Williams said there were three arrests on Tuesday, involving activists who climbed 60-foot flagpoles at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to hang an anti-Trump banner.

Activists who hung banner at Rock Hall were arrested. Cleveland Fire department began taking the banner down. Cleveland police said three people were arrested.
