LONDON, Ohio — Hundreds of fallen Ohio officers were honored Thursday at the Ohio Peace Officers' Memorial Ceremony in London, Ohio.

The names of all 799 officers killed in the line of duty since 1823 were read at the ceremony, which began at 11 a.m.

Special recognition was given to the officers who died in the past year, including two local officers: Mentor Officer Mathew Mazany, who was killed in a hit-and-run crash, and Cleveland Officer Vu Nguyen, who collapsed during a training exercise.
