TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Zoo gave an update on one of its newest additions on Saturday morning, the baby polar bear cub born three months ago.
The polar bear cub was born on Dec. 9 but his sex was unknown and he had not been named.
The Toledo Zoo announced that the cub was a male polar bear and that the had been named Borealis, a reference to the Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis.
According to the zoo some of Borealis’ nicknames include Bo and Boris.
Borealis is 27 pounds and is a healthy cub, according to the zoo.
