Youngstown company recalls hot pepper mix due to processing deviation

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Sleepy Hollow Farm in Youngstown is voluntarily recalling its Santone’s Hot Pepper Mix due to a processing deviation, according to a news release from the company.

The products were sold in 7.4 ounce glass jars with a lot code 1112131802 between Dec. 13, 2018 and Jan. 29, 2019 at the Howland Farmers Market, the release states. The issue was discovered during a routine inspection by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.

There have been no reports of illness involving the hot pepper mix, but anyone exhibiting symptoms of foodborne illness should contact a doctor immediately.

Customers who have purchased the affected product should dispose of it or return it to 907 Elm Street, Youngstown for a replacement.
