LeBron James is taking a day off.
Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue says he is resting the four-time NBA MVP on Sunday, when Cleveland plays at the Washington Wizards.
Lue says it's because the Cavs are playing a stretch of three games in four days, including at the Indiana Pacers on Monday night.
Another factor, according to the coach: James played the entire second half Friday night in Cleveland's 99-97 loss at the Toronto Raptors.
This is only the second game James will have missed this season. He sat out against Miami on Dec. 5, when the explanation given also was that James needed rest, rather than that he was dealing with any sort of injury.
The Wizards will host the Cavs Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Verizon Center in Washington.
