The morning commute started out with delays for some drivers as emergency crews and police responded to eight crashes on I-480 Friday morning.
The crashes happened along I-480 westbound just before I-77.
Independence police confirm there were two hit-skips where drivers left the scene.
Two people have been taken to the hospital with their injuries unknown.
The crashes closed one lane on I-480 westbound as crews worked to remove the cars from the road.
It's unclear at this time what caused the crashes.
