Thousands are without power as wind gains speed under High Wind Warning

CLEVELAND — Thousands are without power Monday afternoon as wind gusts of up to 60 mph move into the area.

According to the FirstEnergy, more than 9,000 of its customers are without power.

The following Northeast Ohio counties are experiencing some power outages, mainly to the south:

Cuyahoga County: 1,819
Erie County: 89
Geauga County: 97
Huron County: 123
Lake County: 240
Portage County: 101
Stark County: 1,380
Summit County: 4,844

West winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected in some areas.

The High Wind Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday for the following counties:

  • Lorain
  • Medina
  • Summit
  • Portage
  • Trumbull

The High Wind Warning is in effect for the following counties until 11 p.m.:

  • Cuyahoga
  • Geauga
  • Ashtabula
  • Lake
