CLEVELAND — The Oscar buzz around Cleveland got a lot more exciting on Monday.
This year's nominees include Judas and the Black Messiah, which was filmed in Cleveland.
The movie received six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
For Cleveland, the movie provided many opportunities for people in the community.
"I was confused a little bit, I didn't really know what was happening. I didn't really believe it that I was actually going to be in the movie. And all this around me was just crazy," said extra Bryce Smith.
"This is just something incredible that we can kind of show that a lot of great quality films are made right here in Northeast Ohio," said production coordinator for the Greater Cleveland Film Commission Michael Wendt.
