Enjoy a Taste of the Browns September 21

Posted

This is the 17th year the Taste of the Browns event will go on, returning to First Energy Stadium on Monday, Sept. 21.

The Taste of the Browns event is a major annual fundraiser for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. In 2014, $190,000 was raised at the event and the Food Bank was able to distribute more than 760,000 meals to agencies in six counties.

The Cleveland Browns and Northeast Ohio's most talented and well-known chefs will work together to make this event a success.

"We are excited to partner again with the Cleveland Browns to tackle hunger in Northeast Ohio at the 17th annual Taste of the Browns,” said Kristin Warzocha, president and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. “Every year this event celebrates our city’s love of its football team, showcases our unique culinary talents and highlights the generosity of the community, all while raising the funds that will provide hundreds of thousands of meals to hungry Northeast Ohioans."

This year's fundraiser will feature more than 25 of the regions finest restaurants and chefs including Jonathan Sawyer of The Greenhouse Tavern, Rocco Whalen of Fahrenheit, Eric Williams of Momocho, Sam McNulty of The Market Garden Brewery, Michael Thompson and Odell Boone of Pickwick & Frolic, and more.

The honorary event co-chairs this year are Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden and former Browns Linebacker and current Judge of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, Dick Ambrose.

Attendees will also be able to participate in a silent auction with special items such as Browns gift baskets, autographed memorabilia, game tickets, trips and more.

NewsChannel 5's Lee Jordan will be the emcee for the event, which will take place from 6-9 p.m.

The Taste of the Browns will be held in the Club Lounge at FirstEnergy Stadium. General admission tickets are $175 and VIP tickets are $250. All proceeds will go to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
