CLEVELAND — Here are 14 exciting things to do in Cleveland and Akron on Valentine's day:

For locals who enjoy giving back, Cleveland Undie Run will be hosting a charity run to help find a cure to neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that affects 1 in every 3,000 births, according to the Children's Tumor Foundation. Participants will run in their underwear because those diagnosed with the disease cannot cover up their tumors to feel comfortable. The Cleveland Museum of Art will host a day of programs celebrating love in all forms and a free exhibit titled, Proof: Photography in the Era of the Contact Sheet from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For parents who may want to enjoy Valentine's day away from their children, Retro Revival has a creative art class for children ages six and up from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There are also numerous workshops available for children at the Great Lakes Science Center from Feb. 14 to 17. The Downtown Akron Partnership (DAP) is working with eleven businesses to bring customers Galentine's Day from Feb. 13 to 14, which celebrates the joys of female friendship and female-owned businesses. Companies will present a night of special offers and discounts to customers. Participating businesses include Northside Cellar, blue: A Goodwill Boutique, Jilly's Music Room, Zeber-Martell Studio, Tammy O's Spa and Salon, Sweet Mary's Bakery, The Peanut Shoppe, SYLC Consulting, Western Fruit Basket, Art by Design, Bizzy Beads Boutique, The Tea Lady and Smile Inside. DAP is also partnering with Akron Metro Regional Transit Authority (RTA) to offer free rides to riders who show their Ohio Loves Transit buttons to any of the participating businesses.
