A reboot of the classic family drama “Little House on the Prairie” is reportedly in the works, according to multiple sources.

The original series aired from 1974 to 1982, starring Michael Landon, Karen Grassle, Melissa Gilbert and Melissa Sue Anderson. It was based on the autobiographical book series of the same title from Laura Ingalls Wilder.

The series followed the day-to-day adventures of the Ingalls family living on a farm in the late 1800s in Walnut Grove, Minnesota.

The latest version being planned is reportedly an hour-long drama. The reboot is a collaboration of Paramount TV Studios and Anonymous Content, according to Entertainment Weekly and NBC News. No word on an air date at this time or potential cast members.

After the series ended, a miniseries aired in 2005 and a touring stage musical ran from 2008 to 2010, in addition to a few TV movies.

The original TV series ran in reruns in dozens of countries. It is now available on Cozi TV, UPtv, Hallmark Drama, and on the streaming service Peacock, owned by NBC Universal.
