It’s easy to know some foods have carbs — bread, for instance — but if you’re following a ketogenic diet or otherwise trying to cut down, you need to be aware that they are in a lot of foods you might not think about.

One of those is ice cream, which often packs so many carbs that if you ate one serving on the Keto diet, you likely couldn’t have any more carbs the entire day.

Thankfully, keto has become popular enough for brands to begin making new ice cream flavors that carb-watching dessert lovers can enjoy too! The latest comes from Halo Top, which just released a brand new Keto Series with seven flavors like Chocolate Cheesecake, Caramel Butter Pecan and Jelly Donut!

These new ice creams are made with ultra-filtered skim milk, which has fewer calories than regular milk but also delivers a boost of protein. The Keto Series flavors have net carbs ranging from 5-10 grams and calories ranging from 410-630 per pint — lower than regular ice cream.

Other flavors include Banana Cream Pie, White Chocolaty Macadamia Nut, Peanut Butter Chocolate and Berry Swirl. You can find 16-ounce pints in stores nationwide now for around $5.99 a pint.

There are also other brands of keto ice cream on the market, though some are not as widely available as Halo Top.

Rebel Creamery ice cream also has a ton of flavors like Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter Fudge and Cookies & Cream. This brand is available nationwide at stores like Kroger, ShopRite and Publix and has 4-8 grams of net carbs per pint.

You could also check out Keto Pint, another brand with a variety of flavors — and many varieties include just 3 net carbs per pint. You can find their ice cream at a handful of stores like Whole Foods, Safeway and Costco or order online.

Breyers also makes a low-carb ice cream, though it does not say it is safe for those in ketosis, so it might be best to try that one only if you’re just watching your carbs.

You could also make your own keto ice cream by following this recipe from blog Chocolate Covered Katie, which has only four ingredients.

If you want some other sweet treats that aren’t ice cream, you can also find keto cookies from Lenny & Larry’s. Also vegan, the cookies are sold on Amazon and at Walmart and Vitamin Shoppes nationwide.

Another treat available on Amazon is dark chocolate Keto Dippers fromShrewd Food. The coated protein puffs are covered in chocolate and have about 8 grams of protein and 2 net carbs per serving.

Lastly, don’t forget about cake! Duncan Hines now makes keto-friendly cake cups so you can cook up a single-serving of Keto-friendly cake right in the microwave.
