All over the Cleveland, there is a trend taking place—small food businesses are hosting 'pop-up' restaurants and gatherings for local customers. These are usually not well advertised and are head by word of mouth or through social media.
Here's what's going on this weekend:
1. Mason's Creamery: Ramen Noodle night
Known for its delicious ice-cream creations, owners Jesse and Helen started trying something different besides their usual ice cream flavors that have customers coming back. Once a month, they are trying to host a ramen noodle night. Helen, born in China, is bringing her cultural food to the streets of Ohio City.
Check out their next ramen noodle night on Saturday, April 1 at 2 p.m. Helen suggest that customers come early because they usually run out of ramen by 4 or 5 p.m.
Find them at 4401 Bridge Avenue Cleveland, Ohio (216) 245-8942 or on Twitter at @masonscreamery
2. Rising Star: French Toast pop-up brunch
What goes better with coffee than French toast? Rising Star is celebrating maple syrup season by bringing in Chagrin Falls-based All Hands Culinary Services to whip up French toast. Customers can choose from four options:
Traditional with powdered Sugar, bananas foster, cranberry orange walnut, cinnamon apple with Tom's Foolery Applejack and includes your choice of sausage or bacon for $8.
Find them at this location only for the brunch: 2187 Murray Hill Cleveland, Ohio 44106
3. Balance and Brews at the Rising Star Roastery
If you struggle to get out of bed for your a.m. yoga session, Balance & Brews has you covered. Come enjoy 60 minutes of yoga and freshly brewed coffee while you do downward dog. Spots are limited, but they are still available. Yoga begins at 9:30 a.m. Attendees will get a small bag of coffee to take home!
