CLEVELAND — With summer in full swing in Northeast Ohio, the thought of Christmas may get a irksome reaction from many, but it's actually the best time to start the hunt for the ultimate holiday tree that will stand in Cleveland's Public Square during the holiday season.

Organizers from the Downtown Cleveland Alliance are calling for submissions of pine trees 50 feet and higher for the annual Winterfest celebrations that kick off on Nov. 30.

Tree owners can submit a photo of their tree with the size and location of the tree for consideration to lkrieger@downtowncleveland.com.

If selected, the City of Cleveland will cover the cost to remove the tree.
