LAKEWOOD, Ohio — The biggest drinking night of the year is the week and Lyft and Jack Daniels are teaming up to make sure everyone gets home safe.
Lyft will be offering $5 off one rides from 6 p.m. on Nov. 27 until 2 a.m. on Nov. 28.
“Lyft is excited to continue expanding its partnerships with Cleveland organizations as part of our Ride Smart initiative to encourage locals to make smart choices when enjoying festivities,” said Jay Dumaswala, General Manager of Lyft Cleveland. “It’s our goal to help everyone enjoy the night before Thanksgiving in a worry-free manner.”
The code will be available in Lakewood, downtown Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, University Circle, Ohio City and Tremont.

In Summit County, from 6 p.m. on Wednesday until 6 a.m. on Saturday, Lyft and City Yellow Cab will be offering free rides.
“Thanksgiving Eve is typically one of the top days of the year for drinking alcohol. In fact, the day is known as “Blackout Wednesday” where people drink alcohol until they black out. This Thanksgiving my office is teaming up with City Yellow Cab and LYFT to provide Summit County residents options in getting home safely,” said Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. “Thanksgiving is a happy time for friends and families to gather and I want to help keep drunk drivers off the road and keep our streets safe.”
